Ghost Papers Update!

10/26/2024

Hello Monster Hunters! It was a busy summer and now we're only days away from Halloween, so it's time for a few updates! The Ghost Papers is coming along nicely but we still need stories. The deadline for submissions has been extended through February, so head over to the Submissions page for all details and send us your best ghost story!

Emby has also been posting a feature on Facebook called SATURDAY NIGHT HORROR and that's been a lot of fun. Each week (with a few exceptions) we are posting links to our Nocturnal channel on YouTube with narrated stories (always free) as well as movie reviews, updates on projects, links to famous ghost stories or tales of terror (also free through the Gutenberg Project) as well as mentions for other projects and monster related things!  We try to keep it focused on free offerings with a few mentions here and there for regular books and such.

Please join us for Saturday Night Horror, the Nocturnal channel, and start looking forward to The Ghost Papers!  Until next time!

THE KICKSTARTER IS LIVE!

Hello Monster Hunters!

Emby's first Kickstarter is live and we are hoping that everyone who enjoys a good werewolf story will join us in reaching our goal! A Kickstarter is a great way us to recoup production costs more quickly than we might otherwise. It also gives us a way to offer tuckerizations (the inclusion of your name in the book, being attacked by a werewolf, immortalized in print!) and critiques of stories. It gives you the chance to order the book (or books as Vol. 1 is available as well) before they go on sale and have your name added to the Monster Hunter Lodge page in the book and on this site.

We are very excited to jump into the Kickstarter world and if things go well, plan to offer the same options for Werewolf - Blood & Arcana, Emby's next anthology.

Stay tuned here for updates and happy hunting!

NEW BOOKS!

2/19/2024

Hello Monster Hunters,

If you've been watching the Emby facebook page you know that we are just about ready to release Legends of the Werewolf Hunter II. This is our second team up with Brian P. Easton and his Autobiography of a Werewolf Hunter series where each author tells a story set in his universe.

These stories are best described as possibilities - as what ifs? -  each depicting an unexplored corner of his world, maybe a character we've only briefly met or the backstory of events that have never before been put to page.

Brian has been gracious in allowing each author the freedom to explore his world on their own terms and the stories range from settings and characters most of have surely wondered about, all of the way to out-of-this-world stories that nobody could have imagined. In addition, Brian has worked with each author to help keep continuity with his world and bring a sense of authenticity to each story.

In addition, Emby is trying something new! We are looking to schedule a Kickstarter for mid-March, so keep your eyes on this page for updates and details.

And, for those that have heard the rumor quietly being whispered around campfires, it's true.

Emby is set to open the call for a new anthology this May.

The Book is currently titled Werewolf: Blood & Arcana and we are asking for original tales that push werwolf legends and lore into new territories.

Details will be posted soon but keep these points in mind:

Emby is the "Monster Hunter Press". Monster hunters are not strictly required but are looked upon favorably. As always, the definition of what makes a "monster hunter" will be very open to interpretation as we are looking for originality.

The same idea will be applied to the werewolves. We want to see new angles, new traditions and new rules. You are welcome to include full moons and silver bullets, but there must also be something different, something new if you want to catch our eye.

All details will be released in the weeks ahead, so keep your eyes on this page and let the ideas begin to simmer.

The Return Of The Monster Hunter

10/31/2020

Hello Hunters,

It's been a few years and although it was always my intention to return as soon as the market worked itself out, that never really happened. But, there are stories that still need telling and authors that I've missed working with and when the opportunity came along to work with Brain P. Easton on Legends of the Werewolf Hunter, there really wasn't any question that it was time come back.

Old Business: There were a number of projects in various stages of completion when I boarded up the press years ago. At that time, I returned the rights to all of those stories to the authors and wished everyone the best in placing them - those stories deserve to be read.

Those projects will not be resurrected, The past is the past and the world has changed far too much to try and return to old business models.

The future is about new opportunities and ways of doing things and to that end, there will be future Legends of the Monster Hunter anthologies, and I expect to announce an open call for the first of these after the holidays, so stay tuned.

I will folding the directory concept into the books as well. There are so many new outlets looking for content these days for streaming, animation and gaming content, and with the stories I see being printed now, its obvious they need help and that means they need to come to the experts. That's us!  I'll be talking about this more in a future video update, but you can see the basic idea in the link above.

It feels good to be back on the trail and I'm looking forward to reconnecting with everyone.

Until then, good writing and happy hunting!
